Restaurant
Osteria Giardino Bordei, our organic vegetarian restaurant in the village of Bordei, is open 7 days a week from April to August and five days a week (Wednesday to Sunday) from September until the end of November. The restaurant is run by chef Pietro Leemann, who founded and ran the world-class vegetarian restaurant Joia in Milano, which opened in 1989 and was awarded a Michelin star in 1996. At Osteria Giardino, the ingredients are completely organic and come from the vegetable and fruit gardens of Bordei as much as possible. The high-quality cuisine is plant-based, follows an original mountain style and combines simplicity with an abundance of flavor. Exclusive events such as birthday parties or weddings are organized in the small adjacent church.
Accommodation
At our retreat centre and B&B in Bordei, as well as at the Sanctuary in Terra Vecchia, we offer our guests several beautiful guest houses with single-occupancy, double-occupancy and triple-occupancy rooms. The Retreat House offers 5 double-occupancy rooms and our Osteria offers 6 further rooms for group stays and individual bookings. At Bordei we offer a total of 40 beds plus additional facilities for larger groups. All rooms are cozy and tastefully furnished, with a Swiss Alps spirit.
Garden
At the Ecovillage & Sanctuary, beautiful permaculture gardens are cultivated to help farmers grow organic vegetables and flowers. Together with the seasonal fruit from our own fruit trees, we create products that we serve in our restaurant Osteria Giardino Bordei. The volunteers we welcome at our sites are given the opportunity to help out in the gardens and have a unique relationship with nature.
Sauna
Our sauna facility features a wood-heated sauna, a cold plunge - also known as cold water immersion (CWI), and showers. The sauna is available for groups and guests staying at our accommodations. This is a wonderful place to rejuvenate both body and mind.
